Our Read by Three program ensures all students read by the end of third grade. This is a major focus of our school and we believe that students who enter SHCP in kindergarten, first, or second grades will be able to read by the end of third grade.

We also recognize, however, that many of the students who enroll in third through sixth grades may be two or more years behind or may be English Language Learners with very limited English proficiency. It will also be important to measure growth in reading proficiency. Our goal will be to catch up and keep up the students who are behind.
